Our take on UnBorn
Its defining constraint is that zombies cannot be killed permanently, turning every shooting encounter into a temporary reprieve rather than a completed fight.
What is UnBorn?
UnBorn traps the player in a graveyard surrounded by zombies.
Staying awake requires adrenaline, which comes from shooting the undead. Because the zombies return rather than dying permanently, the gameplay centers on repeatedly putting them down and finding enough guns and ammunition to continue. The graveyard supplies these resources. Two counters remain visible during play: one records the number of zombies temporarily killed, while the other tracks elapsed playtime. The game presents a contained survival-shooter loop built around recurring enemies, scavenged weapons, ammunition management, and maintaining wakefulness.
How UnBorn plays
- 01Recurring Zombie Threat
- Zombies return after being shot, so enemy removal is temporary.
- 02Graveyard Supplies
- The setting provides guns and ammunition for continued encounters.
- 03Dual Counters
- Separate displays record temporary zombie kills and elapsed playtime.
UnBorn compared to similar games
UnBorn focuses on repeated zombie encounters in a graveyard, with weapons and ammunition supplied by the setting. Zero Caliber VR provides a single-player or cooperative campaign, cross-play player-versus-player modes, and mod support, while Contractors centers on team-based competitive VR shooting and custom content. LUFTRAUSERS instead uses an arcade air-combat structure with configurable aircraft parts and battles against several enemy types.
