Our take on Titanic VR
Its focus on historical exploration gives up the variety of a broader action game. The experience centers on one wreck, one disaster, and a defined set of research activities rather than combat, extensive character progression, or open-ended systems.
What is Titanic VR?
Titanic VR combines underwater exploration with an interactive historical story.
Players take the role of Dr. Ethan Lynch, a maritime archaeology professor who travels aboard a research vessel to investigate the Titanic wreck with PhD candidate Jean Robinson. Diving in the North Atlantic, players explore the ship inside and out, retrieve a lost remotely operated vehicle, make a documentary, and create a photomosaic. A separate 1912 scenario presents major events from the perspective of a survivor aboard lifeboat 6. The experience includes more than 6 hours of gameplay and draws on eyewitness testimony and research about the disaster.
