Is Tinertia worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Action-platformer fans who want rocket-based movement instead of conventional jumping
- Players who enjoy boss challenges, speed runs, and global score competition
- Windows VR owners seeking a 3D platforming game with combat
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking conventional platforming controls may hit a wall when movement depends on rocket jumps rather than a jump button.
- Players looking for a small, relaxed platformer may find the seven worlds and 65+ levels too extended and mechanically demanding.
- Players without an HTC Vive or Oculus headset will not be able to use the virtual reality mode.
Our take on Tinertia
The bounce point arrives at the movement system: there is no jump button, and progress depends on directing rocket jumps while building speed. Players expecting conventional platforming controls may struggle before reaching the combat and boss encounters.
What is Tinertia?
Tinertia is an action-platformer about Weldon, who is trapped on a dying planet and must climb through ruins while fighting sentient machines.
Its twin-stick movement system uses rocket jumps to build speed, with no jump button and no speed limit. The game combines methodical platforming with fast shooting across seven worlds and more than 65 levels, ranging from the planet’s molten core to outer space. Seven bosses provide major challenges. On Windows, Tinertia can be played in virtual reality with an HTC Vive or Oculus headset. Gauntlet, Boss Rush, and Speed-Run modes add skill-based challenges. Global leaderboards record scores, while replays can be viewed with adjustable camera angles and playback speed.
