Our take on Timber and Stone
The city-building emphasis understates how much survival depends on combat preparation. Food, clothing, weapons, armor, and walls all require ongoing management, while growing wealth increases the danger of goblin and undead assaults.
What is Timber and Stone?
Timber and Stone is a procedural city-building game set in a medieval fantasy world.
Each game starts with generated terrain, a small group of workers, and limited supplies. Players gather food and construction materials, then expand production across more than one hundred resources that can be collected and crafted. The settlement requires food, clothing, weapons, armor, and fortified walls to support its workforce and withstand attacks. Combat, castle defense, and sieges are central parts of the game. As the settlement grows wealthier, goblin hordes and necromancers leading undead armies become threats. The game combines city management with real-time-strategy elements, randomization, and a high difficulty level.
