Our take on Three Days
The defining constraint is the 72-hour escape deadline, paired with an endless mode that removes the timer for a different pace.
What is Three Days?
Three Days is a survival game set on an island after a scientist’s ship explodes while transporting SCP-2432.
Each playthrough generates a different island, resource placement, name, and weather conditions. The main mode imposes a 72-hour limit for finding an escape, while endless mode removes the timer. Survival requires monitoring hunger, hydration, and temperature. Resources can be combined by dragging one item onto another, without an inventory system. Breaking resources provides experience for level-ups and Perk Points, which can be spent on 15 character upgrades. Shoreline notes reveal parts of the story, and the ending changes through four cutscenes based on the player’s level.
How Three Days plays
- 01Timed Escape Mode
- The main game mode gives the player 72 hours to survive and leave the island.
- 02Endless Survival Mode
- A separate mode removes the time limit for a less time-pressured session.
- 03Randomized Islands
- Each playthrough changes the island layout, resource locations, island name, and weather effects.
- 04Drag-Based Crafting
- Crafting combines movable resources by placing one item onto another instead of using an inventory.
- 05Survival Statistics
- Hunger, hydration, and temperature require ongoing attention during each run.
- 06Perk Point Upgrades
- Breaking primary resources grants experience and Perk Points for 15 character improvements.
- 07Branching Endings
- The character’s level affects the outcome shown through four end-game cutscenes.
- 08Automatic Resource Mining
- Moving to a resource starts its collection process without requiring repeated button presses.
- 09Shoreline Story Notes
- Notes washed onto the coast reveal background information about the incident and island.
Three Days compared to similar games
