Our take on The Wire Man
Instead of relying on standard platformer movement alone, the game makes wire placement the central climbing tool. Falling can return the character to the starting point, while the unsaved structure replaces gradual checkpoint-based progress with repeated full attempts.
What is The Wire Man?
The Wire Man is a difficult 2D platformer built around climbing with wires.
Move left and right with the keyboard, jump, and use the mouse to attach a wire or remove one. The objective is to reach the top while navigating obstacles and choosing creative routes through the terrain. Contact with a red wall, or striking a wall with the character’s head, sends the character falling back toward the starting point. The game cannot be saved, so progress depends on completing the climb in one session. Its completion point is not very high, but the obstacles make the ascent demanding. The game is aimed at players who enjoy difficult challenges and persistent attempts rather than an easy finish.
How The Wire Man plays
- 01Wire-Based Climbing
- Mouse controls let the character attach wires to navigate terrain and remove them when needed.
- 02Obstacle-Fall Rules
- Touching a red wall or hitting a wall with the character’s head causes a fall.
- 03No Save System
- The climb must be completed without saving progress.
The Wire Man compared to similar games
Jusant is also a climbing-focused action game, but it combines ascent with puzzle elements, exploration, multiple paths, and a narrative journey. The Wire Man is a compact 2D platformer centered on wire placement, obstacle avoidance, and completing the climb without saved progress.
