Our take on The Vellescian Gambit
The central constraint is a 23-day delivery deadline: the apprentice must get cargo to Neubach without knowing what it contains, while working with limited funds and dangerous roads.
What is The Vellescian Gambit?
As a trading company apprentice, carry an unknown shipment to its Neubach branch within 23 days.
This brief visual novel/RPG blends commerce with travel planning: map a course through the Free Cities, bargain and trade while watching limited funds and the clock. Hazardous routes may strand the apprentice in an unfamiliar town or bring an encounter with brigands. Two companions, junior accountant Emily de Vries and seasoned mercenary captain Lucky, provide counsel along the way. Set in a world inspired by the 1600s, the game features trading firms and commercial intrigues, accompanied by baroque artwork and classical music. A run lasts about 2–3 hours, and the game can be replayed.
