Our take on The Midnight Walk
The companion-light mechanic places distraction and evasion at the center of encounters, trading direct confrontation for a more constrained way to deal with monsters and protect Potboy.
What is The Midnight Walk?
Play as the Burnt One and travel with Potboy, a lost lantern creature whose flame illuminates a dangerous world.
Use the light to distract monsters, then hide from and evade threats from The Dark Itself. The adventure presents five tales of fire and darkness, with unusual characters and encounters along the way. Its environments were sculpted from real clay, scanned into 3D, and animated in a stop-motion style. The game supports flatscreen play with a gamepad and play through a VR headset. The journey combines movement through a perilous world, companion-based threat avoidance, and a dark fantasy story.
