Our take on The Mercenary Rise
Rather than centering the campaign only on battles and character progression, the game places mercenary management, caravan investment, debt repayment, and investigation alongside turn-based encounters. Its RPG structure therefore includes an economic layer built around city development and trade.
What is The Mercenary Rise?
Manage Stephen Gray's mercenary corps while investigating his father's death and repaying inherited debts within a limited period.
The game combines turn-based, chess-like battles with regiment management, companion recruitment, trading, and task completion across six countries. Cities act as caravan trading nodes, allowing investment in up to 100 locations, the exchange of goods, and purchases that vary with urban development. Companions have individual skills, recruitment conditions, and growth paths, with randomly determined attributes and ranks from C to S. Relics provide attributes and, at higher levels, skills, mobility, or attack-range benefits. National, guild, branch, and story tasks expand the campaign. The national system is currently incomplete and provides titles.
