Our take on The Hole Story
The changing locations of clues and items add variation between playthroughs, but the focus on riddles and a fixed set of 15 challenges limits the emphasis on broader RPG systems and extended exploration.
What is The Hole Story?
Play as Wendy, a young archaeologist transported through a backyard portal into a mystical land.
To return home, she must rescue Alonna, a missing princess, by exploring the world, digging with her shovel, and solving riddles. This top-down RPG fantasy adventure contains 15 challenges that grow more difficult. Along the way, Wendy encounters humorous characters, discovers secret levels, earns experience, and spends it on character customization and gear upgrades. The locations of clues and items are randomized, so playthroughs can present different discoveries. The game was created by a group of young female designers and won the Grand Prize at the inaugural Girls Make Games Demo Day.
