We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…

Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely narrative experience may find the combat-focused monster encounters distracting

- VR users who rely on Virtual Desktop for wireless play
- Players looking for a non-horror adventure without haunted environments or exorcisms
Our take on The Dark Method
The two modes differ more than the broad adventure framing suggests: the campaign centers on shooting, puzzles, and exploration, while The Dark Files emphasizes repeated exorcisms in changing mansions and explicitly targets a scarier experience.
What is The Dark Method?
The Dark Method is a horror adventure game with two modes.
The campaign follows Dr. Dark through haunted mansions, catacombs, caves, mountain paths, and other environments while he shoots monsters, solves adventure-style puzzles, and investigates the 11th dimension. The Dark Files mode generates a mansion with randomized rooms, corridors, keys, items, and passages. Players must gather what is needed for an exorcism, locate the ritual room, and complete the ritual before the haunting catches them. The game includes snap or smooth turning, adjustable smooth-turn speed, and free locomotion; teleport movement is available in the campaign. Autosaves record progress after selected milestones, and chapter selection allows replay of completed sections.
