Our take on Terroir
The focus on vineyard growth and wine production narrows the management scope. Estate expansion, tile placement, weather, and event choices all serve that theme, leaving less room for the broader military, political, or economic systems found in larger strategy games.
What is Terroir?
Manage a vineyard across complete playthroughs lasting 60 in-game years.
Select grape varieties with different requirements, plant and expand across up to 33 estate tiles, and arrange six tile types whose effects can spread to neighboring spaces. Produce wine through crushing, fermentation, pressing, and ageing, with each grape type requiring a particular approach. Weather changes conditions, while random events and missions offer either risks or rewards. Wine awards can increase a wine’s value and the estate’s renown. Estate customization uses ambient items, and play can continue after the scored portion of a run. The game presents its vineyard management in low-poly 3D and includes an original soundtrack.
