Is Territory: Animals Genetic Strategy worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Strategy players who want to shape animal behavior through genetic changes
- Simulation fans interested in food chains, population growth, and ecosystem competition
- Solo players who want multiple maps, biomes, species, and configurable game modes
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking direct unit control may hit a wall when species respond indirectly only after conditions such as hunger or gene requirements are met
- Players wanting short, combat-focused matches may lose interest while managing feeding, reproduction, migration, disease, and full animal life cycles
- Players looking for a narrative campaign may find the structure centered on ecosystem goals, maps, and modes instead
- Players seeking multiplayer competition will not find it here because the game is single-player
Our take on Territory: Animals Genetic Strategy
The bounce point arrives when indirect control replaces direct orders. Migration and other behaviors depend on conditions such as hunger and gene traits, so players expecting immediate commands may struggle to shape a species' actions.
What is Territory: Animals Genetic Strategy?
Manage animal species across an ecosystem in isometric 2D real-time strategy.
Alter genes to change species attributes and behavior, set food preferences, increase populations, and expand into new territories. Animals live through birth, feeding, reproduction, disease, predation, fights, and old age. Species may be herbivores, omnivores, or carnivores, with four possible sizes, and can become hostile when competing for the same food source with similar-sized species. More than 40 species, over 80 genes, three biomes, 12 maps, and three modes provide different starting conditions. Standard mode uses predefined goals, Custom mode changes settings such as starting species and gene-generation speed, and Creative mode provides an empty map without limitations. Goals include biomass targets, biodiversity, and ecosystem dominance.
