Our take on Tales From Off-Peak City Vol. 1
Its concentrated setting supports detailed exploration and recurring characters, but the experience is limited to one street corner and one self-contained volume. The broader story is distributed across the anthology, so the game gives up a fully resolved series-wide narrative.
What is Tales From Off-Peak City Vol. 1?
Set around July Avenue and Yam Street, this first-person adventure follows Caetano Grosso, a former saxophone player and pizza-maker, on a hazy Sunday morning.
Players assist with pizza deliveries while pursuing his old saxophone, setting off events across the neighborhood. Exploration reveals hidden spaces, private lives, and concealed agendas among the people who live there. Activities include making pizzas, taking photographs, pressing buttons, and opening drawers that are not meant to be opened. The musical score is integrated into the game world. Volume 1, Caetano’s Slice, provides a self-contained story and experience while contributing to a larger anthology narrative set in the same universe as Off-Peak and The Norwood Suite.
