Our take on Tale of Enki: Pilgrimage
The bounce point arrives when combat begins: anyone expecting real-time action must work within turn order and the custom Stamina rules. Players looking for a straightforward heroic party may also resist the group’s internal friction and quests that allow power to be used against others.
What is Tale of Enki: Pilgrimage?
Tale of Enki: Pilgrimage follows Gargan, a young Ogre expelled from his home for idleness.
To demonstrate that he is a true Ogre, he travels across the country seeking a relic tied to an ancient Ogre hero. His party includes Rook, an aspiring paladin; Drusilla, a cruel demon witch; Twostone, a cyclops hermit; and Ka-gu, a former villain who became a necromancer. The story focuses on the characters rather than world-saving stakes, with party tensions shaping the journey. Combat is turn-based and avoids random encounters. A custom Stamina system allows several attacks within a round. The game includes over 120 equipment pieces, more than 50 enemies and bosses, and dozens of quests with choices involving cooperation or abuse of power.
