We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RTS players who want base construction combined with direct control of battlefield units

- Players who prefer choosing between economic growth, fortification, and military expansion
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a purely traditional RTS without third-person unit control or alternate combat modes
- Players who want a single fixed gameplay loop rather than separate campaigns, base management, and combat-only play
- Players looking specifically for cooperative multiplayer rather than the stated 1v1 online format
Our take on Tactical Warfare
The hybrid structure trades specialization for variety: managing an economy and army can be interrupted by direct battlefield control, while the combat-only mode removes the base-building and resource decisions that shape the main RTS loop.
What is Tactical Warfare?
Tactical Warfare is a real-time strategy game about conflict between the Terrans, who defend Earth, and the Assarlions, who seek a new home after their planet’s destruction.
Players construct and expand bases, develop defenses and military units, manage income, and balance economic growth with offensive and defensive plans. Factions use different combat styles and units, including tanks, vehicles, aircraft, soldiers, and robots. Two single-player campaigns follow the opposing sides. Planned modes include customizable skirmishes and online 1v1 battles with selectable maps and victory conditions. A third-person mode allows direct control of battlefield units while base management continues, while No Base Mode removes construction and resource gathering in favor of fixed income and unit tactics.
How Tactical Warfare plays
- 01Dual Faction Campaigns
- Two single-player storylines follow the Terrans defending Earth and the Assarlions searching for a new home.
- 02Flexible Base Building
- Players can arrange and expand bases while developing defenses and military units at the same time.
- 03Resource Management
- Income can support economic growth, defensive structures, or an attacking army.
- 04Mixed Military Units
- The factions field tanks, combat vehicles, aircraft, soldiers, and robots with differing combat abilities.
- 05Third-Person Unit Control
- Players can take direct control of tanks, aircraft, ships, and other units while continuing base management.
- 06Combat-Only Mode
- No Base Mode uses fixed income and removes base construction and resource collection in offline skirmishes and online 1v1 matches.
Tactical Warfare compared to similar games
