Skip it if you…

Our take on Sweet Pea
The store page foregrounds hazardous platforming and power combinations, while the additional terrarium and photo modes occupy a smaller part of the description. Those modes broaden the package, but they are separate from the main platforming progression.
What is Sweet Pea?
Sweet Pea is a challenging 2D platformer set in a dark fantasy world with hand-drawn art and physics-based movement.
Players collect hidden power-ups, bottles, items, and sacred butterflies to gain abilities and keep Sweet Pea alive. Powers alter movement and hazards: changing mass affects slopes, freezing water creates new routes, leaf wings enable gliding, and blasts can pass deadly enemies. Levels include bosses, basic puzzles, secret areas, hidden paths, and frequent environmental dangers such as crushing, drowning, and explosions. Secret zones introduce different activities, including cannon-based challenges. Terrarium mode supports player-built forests, towns, temples, and dungeons with procedurally generated peas, while photo mode offers pan, zoom, and filters.

Sweet Pea compared to similar games
Sweet Pea combines 2D platforming with collectible powers, secret zones, basic puzzles, and a terrarium-building mode. Sundered: Eldritch Edition is presented as a chaotic metroidvania, while Jusant centers on climbing, stamina management, exploration, and action-puzzle gameplay. The other listed alternatives focus on shooting or runner gameplay rather than this platforming and exploration structure.
