Our take on Swapshot
Rather than relying on ordinary jumping as the main platforming tool, Swapshot makes position exchange the central movement rule. Boxes become routes, stepping stones, and puzzle pieces, while limited teleports replace the unlimited traversal often associated with platformers.
What is Swapshot?
Swapshot is a 2D platforming puzzle game in which a girl uses a teleportation gun to exchange positions with boxes.
Levels contain spikes, traps, buttons, doors, keys, exits, and routes to higher platforms. Teleports are limited, so each swap must be considered as part of the solution. Movement includes walking, jumping, and teleporting, with progress based on logic challenges and reaching level objectives. Later stages introduce more complex challenges that combine quick reactions with planning. Boxes can provide access to elevated areas and hidden routes, while keys unlock passages. The game combines platform navigation, teleport placement, and puzzle solving across a series of challenges.
How Swapshot plays
- 01Box Position Swapping
- The teleportation gun exchanges the protagonist's location with a box.
- 02Limited Teleports
- Each challenge requires managing a restricted number of teleport uses.
- 03Platforming Obstacles
- Levels use spikes, traps, elevated platforms, and hidden routes as navigation challenges.
- 04Key-Based Progression
- Keys unlock passages, while buttons open doors and exits.
- 05Logic Challenges
- Progress depends on combining movement, boxes, and teleport timing to reach objectives.
