Our take on Summit

The game prioritizes open exploration and environmental clues over direct guidance. That gives route choices room to matter, but players who prefer clear directions may need to rely more on observation and dialogue.

What is Summit?

Summit is a 2D Metroidvania about climbing through an interconnected mountain world after an avalanche.

The journey begins in a cave, with a climb toward Pinetown before the ascent continues through caverns, villages, mines, ice caves and mountain passes. More than 12 areas offer branching routes, including safer paths and riskier shortcuts, as well as detours to explore the region’s history. Climbing gear such as ice picks and a grappling hook adds movement options as platforming challenges grow.

Environmental details and dialogue provide clues, with little direct guidance. The story follows a survivor whose personal journey becomes a search for the truth behind the mountain’s past. The game includes handcrafted art, a 30-piece original soundtrack and an average playtime of 10–15 hours.
