Our take on Summertime Madness
The dramatic wartime premise and devil’s bargain frame the experience, but the playable structure centers on investigating an evolving island, solving environmental puzzles, and finding secrets. The narrative setup supplies context for exploration rather than indicating a broader combat or role-playing system.
What is Summertime Madness?
Summertime Madness is a single-player first-person puzzle game set inside a painted world.
In July 1945, a Prague painter accepts a deal with the devil and becomes trapped in one of his canvases. He must find a way back to reality before his soul remains imprisoned. Players investigate an island that changes as they progress: new landmarks appear, including a ship and a lighthouse, while solved puzzles reveal further places to explore. The journey combines environmental exploration, mysteries, hidden secrets, and puzzles among surreal landscapes shaped by paint and oil. Its story presents the canvas as an escape from wartime Prague, while the gameplay centers on examining the surroundings and uncovering how the evolving island works.
