Our take on Sudden Market
Its defining constraint is a supermarket run against a countdown: collect every listed product, then reach the checkout and pay before time expires.
What is Sudden Market?
Sudden Market is a first-person action game set in a supermarket after it closes.
Each stage gives players a list of goods to locate and collect before time expires, while avoiding security guards. Items on the floor can provide a burst of speed, an escape from guards, or a way to shove them aside. Once the list is complete, players must reach the registers and pay before the countdown ends. The game has 18 levels spread across 2 maps.
Some stages introduce obstacles, and moving shopping carts add hazards. Guards come in easy, intermediate, and hard difficulty settings; the final stages feature several guards. A comparison of times appears after each level. Finished times are converted into scores displayed in the main menu, and stages can be replayed to pursue a higher score.
How Sudden Market plays
- 01Timed shopping lists
- Each level requires finding its listed products and paying at the checkout before the time limit ends.
- 02Special floor items
- These pickups can provide a dash, assist an escape from guards, or push obstacles aside.
- 03Time-based scoring
- The end-of-level time comparison lets players track their best time, while completed times are converted into scores shown in the main menu.
- 04Guard difficulty settings
- Security guards have three settings—easy, intermediate, and hard—and multiple guards appear in the final levels.
