Our take on Street Lords
The hybrid structure trades a consistent, authored campaign for repeated variation: city layouts, territory assignments, and gang lineups change between sessions. That supports experimentation, but the sandbox format places less emphasis on a fixed narrative arc or carefully staged progression.
What is Street Lords?
Street Lords combines turn-based faction management with first-person shooting in procedurally generated cities.
Each city can receive a generated name or a custom one, while territory layouts and opposing gangs vary between campaigns. Players recruit different gang members, including foot soldiers, business figures, leaders, and assassins, then position them during battles. First-person combat includes a range of weapons, ragdoll effects, and gore. A generated news system reports events as battles unfold and casualties accumulate. Separate Shootout mode focuses on clashes between non-player characters, with options to join the firefight or observe using cinematic controls and slow motion.
