Our take on Strategist
The game separates planning from movement instead of letting players adjust a route continuously. Obstacles keep moving after the body's path is committed, so each attempt becomes an observation, execution, and route-revision cycle.
What is Strategist?
Strategist is a puzzle game about guiding a body to goals through levels with moving obstacles.
Players first observe the obstacles and their paths, then move the mind through a level to plan the body's route. After the goal is reached with the mind, the body begins moving and the route can no longer be changed. Contact with an obstacle leads to another attempt with a revised path. Levels also include bonus objectives and a challenge to reach the goal using as few movements as possible. The game supports keyboard arrow keys and mouse swipe gestures. Its core cycle combines observation, route planning, execution, and reconsideration after mistakes.
How Strategist plays
- 01Obstacle Observation
- Players can study obstacle movement and paths before setting the body's route.
- 02Minimal Movement Goals
- Levels include an objective to reach the destination with as few movements as possible.
- 03Bonus Objectives
- Players can pursue bonuses in addition to reaching the main goal.
- 04Keyboard And Mouse
- Controls use arrow keys or mouse swipe gestures.
Strategist compared to similar games
The Bridge is also a logic puzzle, but its described play centers on manipulating gravity to reinterpret ceilings, floors, and impossible architecture. Strategist instead uses observation of moving obstacles, route planning for a body, fixed execution, minimal-movement goals, and bonus objectives.
