Our take on Strange Town
The social-deduction structure trades away a purely cooperative adventure: players must divide attention between clearing camps, gathering keys, watching for suspicious behavior, and surviving the spreading gas. Its two-stage map also channels play toward an eventual escape rather than open-ended exploration.
What is Strange Town?
Strange Town is a multiplayer survival role-playing game for 3–8 players.
During discussion phases, players try to identify the hidden Werewolf, while anger phases focus on surviving the threat. One or two players may become Werewolves, sabotage the group’s escape, or transform after consuming enough meat. Players explore a deteriorating magical world covered by toxic gas clouds, search randomly appearing chests for special items, and clear skeleton camps for mission objects or enhanced equipment. The map has two stages: the opening area contains skeleton camps and key pieces, while the second area contains Exit Points. Innocent players must reach those exits to leave the world.
How Strange Town plays
- 01Hidden Werewolves
- One or two players can take the traitor role and obstruct the group’s escape.
- 02Meat Transformation
- A traitor who consumes enough meat can change into a Werewolf and attack the other players.
- 03Randomized Chests
- Chests appear across the map and contain special items for player enhancement.
- 04Skeleton Camp Quests
- Clearing camps can yield mission objects or enhanced items.
- 05Two-Stage Map
- Players collect key pieces in the first stage before reaching the exit area in the second.
- 06Toxic Gas Hazard
- Gas clouds spread across the deteriorating world as players work toward an exit.
