Square Heroes is a humorous multiplayer action shooter supporting matches for six participants, with optional computer-controlled opponents.
It offers cooperative play, free-for-all combat, team contests, gnome searches, and alien-survival scenarios in six 2. 5D arenas. Four people can share one local screen, while local groups may enter internet matches together. Each round offers a weapon selection, with more equipment becoming available through collected loot. Combat advances through melee, ranged, heavy, explosive, and special weapon classes. Solo and custom modes allow practice and varied match rules. Heroes can obtain more than 30 weapons, over 30 achievements, and hats that alter stats. Input options include controllers plus mouse-and-keyboard play with remappable controls.
