Our take on Sproggiwood
The compact roguelike structure keeps each expedition focused, but it limits the space for long-form character development and uninterrupted exploration. Settlement decoration adds a separate activity, though the central progression remains tied to repeated dungeon runs.
What is Sproggiwood?
Sproggiwood combines turn-based roguelike play with a comic setting drawn from Finnish folklore.
Players expand a settlement while guiding single heroes through randomly assembled underground areas filled with foes, hazards, treasure, and tactical decisions. Six adaptable roles are available: farmer, warrior, archer, thief, wizard, and vampire. Expeditions cross wooded regions, wetlands, steep rock formations, and frozen labyrinths, where enemy combinations change from run to run. Every outing tracks one hero’s rise and adds to the settlement’s unfolding narrative. A separate town feature supports arranging structures, vegetation, pathways, and residents. The plot introduces a competing Mushroom society, which can become an ally or an enemy.
