Our take on Splintered
The listing foregrounds endless seeds and changing worlds, but the game also starts with a conventional kingdom-recovery quest. The randomized structure arrives after that initial campaign, so the opening may feel more traditional than the later replay-focused modes.
What is Splintered?
Splintered begins as a classic RPG quest to avenge a slain king and recover a stolen kingdom artifact.
After completing that quest, the villain reshapes the world and rolls back time, rearranging towns, items, equipment, enemy traits, and abilities. Turn-based battles use attacks, spells, and items, while equipment can be improved and combined across Paladin, Thief, and Mage archetypes. Defeating enemies unlocks passive talents, and progression includes 9 core spells that equipment can modify. Further challenges open additional classes and modes, including Roguelike, Clairvoyance, and Instinct modes. The game uses 8-bit-style art and audio, customizable randomization settings, optional in-game guidance, and randomized seeds while its story moves from treachery toward mystery.

Splintered compared to similar games
