Our take on SpaceTone
The game ties its story progression to rhythm stages: clearing levels reveals narrative material, while collecting it opens songs. That structure gives music and story a shared progression path, but leaves less room for a separate, freely paced narrative experience.
What is SpaceTone?
SpaceTone combines rhythm-game stages with a story in which players take the role of Reaper, judging lives near death through music.
Clearing stages reveals more of the story, while collected story material unlocks songs. A point-and-click interface lets players find clues, and in-game choices can lead to different endings. The first early-access version includes one story chapter, 9 songs, and at least 36 levels. The game also offers more than 10 difficulty levels. Its story system is used to read the narrative as it is uncovered. The character Vigo works for the Space Reaper Association and has been assigned a new role involving life and death.
