Our take on Soulace
Soulace emphasizes magical worlds, sculpted landscapes, and reflection on dying. That framing can make it sound like a conventional adventure, but the stated format is an experimental VR artwork centered on atmosphere, music, and contemplation.
What is Soulace?
Soulace is an experimental virtual reality adventure that explores the Bardo, a transitional realm before another rebirth.
Drawing on visionary imagery associated with the Tibetan Book of the Dead, it carries players through fantastical settings and carefully formed landscapes in a meditative audio-visual work. Its poetic style considers mortality and the fleeting character of existence. Movement offers two options: point-and-click teleportation or smooth camera travel. Created by independent developer and artist Sander Bos, Soulace is his second VR artwork and includes music by several artists, among them Bettina Maureen-ji.
How Soulace plays

- 03Sculpted Landscapes
