Our take on Snailiens
The focus on VR tower defense and shooting narrows the experience to defending against alien attacks. That focus leaves less room for other forms of play, while the elemental interactions and tower placement add tactical decisions within the defense format.
What is Snailiens?
Snailiens is a VR tower defense shooter in which players command the S.
A. L. T. defense network against aliens seeking Earth’s cabbages. The gameplay combines direct shooting with tactical tower placement and upgrades. Players can build walls to direct Snailiens through firing routes, equip guns, and use elemental effects in different combinations. For example, enemies can be wetted before being shocked, or covered in flammable goo before being blown up. Different Snailien types have different abilities, calling for changes in defensive tactics. The game also features a comic story about aliens looking for food and a place to call home. Its central activity is building defenses and fighting the invaders in virtual reality.
