Our take on SIDE EFFECTS
The focus on a single survival trial keeps the decision space centered on resistance, pill choices, and between-round items. That narrow structure leaves little room for campaign progression or broader strategic systems.
What is SIDE EFFECTS?
Side Effects is a turn-based medical roulette game for one to four players, with solo and online multiplayer modes.
Each round presents a selection of pills with helpful, harmful, or lethal effects, while the outcomes remain unknown before consumption. Every pill changes a player's resistance, and reaching zero causes death. Between rounds, players select experimental items and treatments, including vaccines and mouth clamps, to alter the odds. Opponents can bluff, adapt, and use their available tools while trying to survive one dose longer than the others. Victory goes to the last surviving player. The game includes 15+ unique items and six pill types.
How SIDE EFFECTS plays
- 01Solo and Online Play
- A single-player mode accompanies online matches for two to four participants.
- 02Resistance Management

- 03Experimental Items
- Between rounds, players choose treatments and other items that can change the odds.
- 04Hidden Pill Effects
- The six pill types can produce helpful, harmful, or instantly fatal results.
- 05Bluffing Opponents
- Other patients can bluff, adapt, and use their resources during the trial.
