Our take on Shutter 2
Rather than keeping the protagonist at the center of every encounter, the game makes a remote-controlled device part of exploration, combat, photography, and puzzle solving. Its camera choice also combines fixed surveillance views with a modern over-the-shoulder perspective.
What is Shutter 2?
Shutter 2 follows a remote-controlled surveillance device through Kent Island Prison, where spectral entities haunt the abandoned halls.
Exploration combines combat, environmental puzzles, and photography. Players can view areas through fixed cameras or use an over-the-shoulder perspective while navigating the prison. Defeated spirits can be photographed, with collected evidence contributing to a score and revealing multiple narrative threads. The RC2 gains defensive tools, health improvements, weapons, camera filters, and an arm mode for puzzle-solving and encounters. Protecting the device is central: it can be upgraded before facing stronger supernatural threats, or players can confront spirits directly. The game presents its story through investigation across the prison during a night of survival.
