Our take on Sea Horizon
The pitch emphasizes that each voyage can feel different, but the described variation centers on island locations, path choices, and equipment dice. It gives less detail about how much story or combat content changes between journeys.
What is Sea Horizon?
Sea Horizon is a roguelike, turn-based RPG set across the shattered islands of Myrihyn.
Players choose characters and sail between locations to explore the unknown and oppose an invading dark force. In combat, characters roll the dice attached to their equipment; the results determine which resources they can use. Equipment choices therefore shape the resources available for each character’s skills. Travel includes food management, and the map can be explored freely. Locations vary in style, and individual journeys can differ. Additional characters become available through stories or events. The game combines island exploration, route selection, resource planning, and turn-based battles, with equipment dice connecting gear choices to combat resources.
How Sea Horizon plays
- 01Equipment dice
- Characters roll dice attached to their gear to determine the resources available during battles.
- 02Food planning
- Food must be considered while exploring the map.
- 03Character unlocks
- Stories and events provide ways to obtain additional characters.
Sea Horizon compared to similar games

Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition instead centers on exploring a strange, dangerous city and emphasizes story, characters, and soundtrack. Back to the Dawn is a prison-escape RPG focused on fighting, investigation, and breaking out of a maximum-security facility.
