Our take on Schwerpunkt
Rather than focusing on individual soldiers, Schwerpunkt centers on directing forces across a large frontline. Its scenario editor also extends play beyond the supplied scenarios, shifting some of the structure from a fixed campaign toward player-created battles.
What is Schwerpunkt?
Schwerpunkt is a World War II military simulation in which players command units across a large frontline and fight through several scenarios.
Different unit types serve distinct roles: armoured forces can break through enemy lines, while motorised infantry can move into gaps. Units have varied strengths and weaknesses, so matching forces against opponents matters; for example, armour is vulnerable to enemy anti-tank divisions. Terrain also affects unit performance, with settings ranging from open plains to marshes influencing how offensives are planned. The map editor allows players to make new scenarios using the available terrain settings and unit types.
How Schwerpunkt plays
- 01Terrain Effects
- Plains and marshes affect unit performance and shape offensive planning.
- 02Scenario Editor
- Create new scenarios with available terrain settings and unit types.
- 03Combined Unit Roles
- Armoured units can break enemy lines while motorised infantry moves through the openings.
