- Adventure fans who want a short experience with an estimated playtime of 60–120 minutes.
- Players interested in exploring a contained setting and assembling its history from found materials.
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a long campaign may find the estimated 60–120-minute playtime limiting.
- Players looking for combat, puzzles, or extensive progression may find the focus on exploration and narrative too narrow.
- Players who prefer high-resolution visuals may not enjoy the intentionally low-resolution, low-poly presentation.
Our take on Sagebrush
The compact runtime keeps the focus on one compound and its history, but leaves little room for a long-form adventure. Exploration and found materials carry the experience, rather than a broad range of gameplay systems.
What is Sagebrush?
Sagebrush is a short first-person narrative adventure set at Black Sage Ranch, a remote New Mexico compound once home to Perfect Heaven, an apocalyptic cult.
Years after its members died in a mass suicide, players explore the ranch, including its trailers, gathering spaces, and old mines. Notes, recordings, and personal belongings reveal details about the people who lived there, their beliefs, and their reasons for joining and leaving. The game uses a low-resolution, low-poly visual style alongside a soundscape and ambient music. Its estimated playtime is 60–120 minutes.
How Sagebrush plays
