Rather than keeping its academy setting at the center, the story sends Sable and Lisha away during a school break to investigate crimes across multiple towns. Optional explanations and reference screens make the sequel accessible without requiring the first game.
What is Sable's Grimoire: Man And Elf?
This fantasy visual novel follows Sable and Lisha during a break from Amadronia Academy.
Their visit to Lisha’s elven village is disrupted by reports of kidnappings and robbed graves, with the crimes blamed on a dark elf. The pair travel between towns to investigate, encountering mind control, forbidden magic, and revelations about Lisha’s father. The story has a 150k word count and leads to two different endings.
Optional narration explains events and terminology from the first game, while glossary and cast screens provide reference material at any time. The game includes 28 CGs and brings back many characters from the first installment alongside new cast members. It is a sequel, but the added explanations mean playing the original is not strictly required.
