Our take on Ruffy and the Riverside
Rather than keeping puzzle solutions inside the level layout, the game centers them on changing textures in the world. It also departs from a continuous 3D adventure by shifting into 2D treasure stages, where the same swapping mechanic is used to pass obstacles.
What is Ruffy and the Riverside?
Ruffy’s SWAP ability lets players copy a texture from one object and apply it to another, changing the world to solve puzzles and open routes.
Ice can become lava, stone can become wood for a boat, and walls can turn to rubble. The adventure combines exploration with fighting, jumping, and skating on hay bales. Riverside has seven regions to explore, with side quests, challenges, treasures, and characters who offer quests. The journey also shifts into 2D levels, where obstacles must be changed to pass through walls and reach more treasures. Players can use dreamstones to make custom textures for parts of the world and collect butterflies, Etoi creatures, and coins.
