Our take on Root Of Evil: The Tailor
The focus on a single haunted-house investigation keeps the experience centered on its mystery, but leaves less room for broader environments, varied activities, or systems beyond searching, puzzles, and supernatural encounters.
What is Root Of Evil: The Tailor?
Root Of Evil: The Tailor follows James, a telepath hired to investigate a haunted house connected to a family’s deaths 20 years earlier.
The case was ruled a suicide, while the couple’s newborn child was sent to an orphanage. Years later, the child, now a girl, hires James and an exorcist to examine the house and discover what happened. Played from a first-person perspective, the game centers on searching rooms for objects, solving puzzles, and using haunted items to connect with the souls of people who died there. Those encounters reveal parts of their history. Strange phenomena, including reported footsteps and a running sewing machine, accompany the investigation.
