Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking branching storytelling may find the linear narrative restrictive.
- Players who expect puzzle-solving or a large set of repetitive side quests will find neither central to the game.
- Players looking for a prison-escape, crime, or corruption-focused RPG may not find the setting a match.
Our take on Roam Across
Players may bounce off the linear story if they expect major branching choices. Others may hit a wall at the equipment-and-weapon system, where success depends on matching gear, mounts, and abilities to different combat situations.
What is Roam Across?
Roam Across is a turn-based RPG set during the late Eastern Han period, with a young master responsible for the safety and prosperity of a prairie tribe.
Its linear story avoids puzzles and repetitive side quests, while connected areas allow optional exploration and hidden side content. Combat choices include different weapons, mounts, equipment, elemental powers, and battle abilities. Spears, bows, armor, and horses support different approaches to encounters. Items such as potions, food, wine, honey, fruit, and mushrooms provide healing or other benefits. The game also includes mentors, alliances, legendary artifacts, and secrets that may reveal further discoveries. Progress can be saved at designated resting places, including woodland springs and mansion beds.
