Is Rising Kingdoms worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- RTS players who want a fantasy setting with several race choices
- Strategy fans who enjoy developing secondary factions alongside a main race
- Players seeking a story-led adventure mode alongside strategic campaigns
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a single focused mode may bounce between the separate strategy and adventure structures.
- Those who want modern settings or contemporary military units may lose interest in the fantasy races, creatures, and artifacts.
- Players looking for turn-based squad tactics may not find the real-time strategy structure suitable.
Our take on Rising Kingdoms
The bounce point comes when players must choose between the game's two structures: strategic control of races and nations, or a hero-led adventure with a small troop group. Those expecting one continuous campaign format may stop at that split.
What is Rising Kingdoms?
Rising Kingdoms is a fantasy real-time strategy game set in Equiada, where players can choose Humans, Foresters, or Darklings as their main race.
Five smaller nations—Shades, Nomads, Dragons, Trolls, and Elves—can be brought under control and developed to support conflicts with opponents. A separate adventure mode follows a group of heroes and a small troop unit as they investigate hidden events across a story covering several generations. The campaign includes ancient artifacts, changing rulers, kingdoms rising and falling, and the emergence of new creatures and races. The game was originally released in 2005 and combines strategic management with an adventure-focused mode.
