Our take on Razortron 2000
Rather than using fixed tracks and conventional race finishes, the game replaces the standard racing structure with endless, procedurally generated roads and traffic. Progress centers on surviving longer, managing fuel, improving scores, and unlocking vehicles instead of completing a championship.
What is Razortron 2000?
Drive through a retro overhead racer with no fixed endpoint, completing brief runs that can be repeated to improve scores.
Routes and traffic are created procedurally, requiring drivers to avoid other vehicles, roadside obstacles, and fuel depletion. Ten vehicles can be unlocked; each has its own specifications and changes the game’s color palette. The package includes online score tables, achievements, trading cards, and cloud saving. Its visual style uses pixel-based artwork, accompanied by an original soundtrack containing 10 synthwave-inspired pieces by Derek Volker. Drawing on racing games from the 1980s and 1990s, it centers on refining results over successive attempts instead of finishing predetermined tracks.
