Our take on Rayland
The relaxing presentation may understate the need for careful spatial planning. Progress depends on arranging reflectors, using beam crossings, and finding routes through blocked areas, so later challenges can demand sustained thought rather than casual interaction alone.
What is Rayland?
Rayland is a puzzle game about transferring energy between Domus structures across a series of lands.
Each level provides Reflectus devices and other resources that must be positioned and rotated so energy beams reach their destinations. Players can use beam intersections to create new rays and route lasers through openings between blocks. Mouse controls move and turn the Reflectus. The game presents challenges ranging from short, relatively simple tasks to puzzles that require several minutes of thought, giving the experience both a relaxed and a more demanding side.
How Rayland plays
- 01Beam routing puzzles
- Each stage requires energy rays to be directed from one Domus structure to another.
- 02Rotatable reflectors
- Mouse controls allow Reflectus devices to be moved and turned into position.
- 03Ray intersections
- Crossing beams can produce an additional ray for use in solving a level.
- 04Block passages
- Openings between obstacles provide routes for the lasers.
