Our take on Quench
The store presentation gives substantial space to the game's fable, artwork, and music, while the main interaction is environmental puzzle-solving under pressure from hazards. Buyers focused on narrative atmosphere may expect more story than the herd-guidance mechanics provide.
What is Quench?
Guide herds of animals across a colourful, low-fi world as Shepherd, an avatar of nature.
The story follows Shaman, a young Elephant leader seeking support from other animal tribes during a traditional pilgrimage. Environmental powers alter the route: grass and trees can be grown, forest fires started, sand dunes moved, and rivers or lakes formed. Herds must be directed around creatures, obstacles, floods, fires, droughts, and smokebeasts threatening the land. The journey combines puzzle-solving with a fable about kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and restoring a damaged home. Illustrated cinematics and dialogue develop the narrative, while a papercraft-inspired setting and an original score accompany the animal-guiding gameplay.
How Quench plays

- 03Narrative presentation
- Illustrated cinematic scenes and dialogue convey Shaman's effort to unite the animal tribes.
- 04Environmental hazards
- Floods, fires, droughts, and smokebeasts create threats during the animals' journey.
