Our take on Psalm 2
Instead of sending players through a broad map or combat loop, the game confines its structure to a downward elevator journey. Each stop replaces conventional level progression with a search for an unseen inhabitant before the descent can continue.
What is Psalm 2?
Psalm 2 is a first-person psychological horror walking simulator built around an elevator descent.
The game moves sequentially through separate floors, with each floor presenting a different fragment of distorted reality and a new inhabitant. Progress stops until the hidden presence on the current floor has been found. The inhabitant may be around a corner, blended into the surroundings, or without a visible form. The elevator serves as the only safe place during the descent. The experience lasts approximately 1 hour and uses realistic graphics with volumetric 3D sound. Flashing lights may trigger epileptic seizures.
How Psalm 2 plays
- 01Sequential Floor Progression
- Each stage presents a separate altered reality and must be completed before the elevator moves lower.
- 02Hidden Inhabitants
- Progress requires locating an entity that may be concealed nearby, merged with the environment, or formless.
- 03Elevator Safe Zone
- The elevator functions as the sole stated safe area during the descent.
- 04Volumetric 3D Sound
- The game uses three-dimensional volumetric audio as part of its atmospheric presentation.
