RPGIs PropHunter worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- Groups of friends who want private hide-and-seek matches rather than solo play
- Players who enjoy deception and want to take the prop role
- Online multiplayer fans who prefer competing in teams rather than playing alone
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a story-driven campaign or substantial solo progression may hit a wall at the team-match structure.
- Players who dislike repeated searching and disguise rounds may lose interest once the hide-and-seek loop repeats.
- Players looking for a persistent open world or base building will find the scope focused on matches.
Our take on PropHunter
The bounce point comes when a player must rely on visual deception or methodical searching rather than direct combat. The randomly placed ability cards add another layer, so players who want fixed loadouts or a predictable round structure may leave at that system.
What is PropHunter?
PropHunter divides players into hunters and props.
Props copy the appearance and traits of level objects, then avoid detection or create distractions. Hunters search for disguised opponents and must find every surviving prop before the round ends; otherwise, the hunters lose. Props can damage hunters with strong attacks, while eliminated hunters join the prop team. Both sides have distinct abilities, including invisibility, object transformation, bombs, increased speed, and health recovery. Abilities become available when players collect randomly placed cards. Matches support open servers and private servers for invited friends. The game also includes trading cards.
How PropHunter plays
- 01Two Team Roles
- Players either disguise themselves as environmental objects or search the level for disguised opponents.
- 02Object Disguises
- Props adopt an object's appearance and characteristics to blend into the surroundings.
- 03Role-Swapping Eliminations
- Caught props join the hunters, while defeated hunters move to the prop team.
- 04Card-Based Abilities
- Randomly appearing cards unlock abilities such as invisibility, bombs, increased speed, and healing.
- 05Private Servers
- Players can host private matches for invited friends as well as use open servers.
