- Players looking for a slower story-focused game may find the combat-led format too action-heavy
Our take on Project G
The defining structure is a side-scrolling submarine campaign that combines combat with resource collection, ship changes, and story logs leading toward a final research lab.
What is Project G?
Project G is a retro-styled side-scrolling shooter set in 2110, where a submarine fights cybernetic fish-bots threatening humanity’s marine farms.
Players move through 25+ levels with keyboard controls or a gamepad, firing weapons and deploying special attacks. Credits and collected materials can be spent on ship upgrades or used to change to another submarine model. Each mission allows one of three special weapon types: depth charges, torpedoes, or nukes. Log entries reveal the events behind the planetary crisis and lead toward the location of Giga Corp’s final research lab. Multiplayer supports two players sharing a screen with dual control pads across the levels.
How Project G plays
- 01Ship Modification
- Credits and gathered materials can be used to improve the submarine or replace it with another model.
- 02Special Weapon Choices
- Each battle loadout includes one selection from depth charges, torpedoes, and nukes.
- 03Story Logs
- Collected records from people affected by the planetary decline reveal more of the crisis.
- 04Two-Player Mode
- Two players can use separate control pads while fighting through the levels on one shared screen.
