Our take on Project Chemistry
Its defining structure is the split between unrestricted chemical experimentation and a goal-driven mode built around synthesizing every molecule.
What is Project Chemistry?
Project Chemistry is a 3D chemistry simulation built around observing elements and molecules and making them react.
Sandbox mode offers unrestricted experimentation with reactions at different scales. Quest mode sets the goal of producing every available molecule through challenges that test chemistry skills. The simulation includes all 118 elements, shown with electrons orbiting their nuclei, and lets players inspect the structure and placement of bonds in a selection of 200 molecules. Players can switch between open-ended experimentation and objective-driven synthesis while discovering macromolecules and reaction results.
How Project Chemistry plays
- 01Element visualization
- The simulation presents all 118 elements in three dimensions, including their electrons moving around the nucleus.
- 02Molecule examination
- A library of 200 molecules can be inspected to see how their chemical bonds are arranged.
- 03Open sandbox
- An unrestricted mode allows reactions to be conducted at different scales without quest objectives.
- 04Synthesis quests
- The objective-based mode asks players to create every molecule through chemistry challenges.
Project Chemistry compared to similar games
Project Chemistry focuses on observing elements, examining molecules, and conducting reactions in a 3D sandbox or synthesis quest structure. SpaceChem instead centers on constructing factories that transform raw materials into chemical products as a reactor engineer.
