Our take on Police Quest: SWAT 2
The game departs from conventional strategy by focusing on police tactics and terrorist operations instead of empire building or broad battlefield management. It also lets players command either side of the conflict, rather than presenting one fixed faction.
What is Police Quest: SWAT 2?
A tactical strategy title set in Los Angeles, offering two opposing campaigns: command a police unit or lead a terrorist group.
The SWAT route lets players assemble a team from 100 officers, while the opposing side offers 100 recruits. Both factions begin with instruction in police tactics and shooting, then undertake fifteen operations each. Custom scenarios can also be made. Available resources include police dogs, bomb-disposal personnel, sharpshooters, helicopters, and protected vehicles. The arsenal contains stun grenades, fragmentation grenades, fuel, forced-entry charges, MP5s, and tools used by vandals. During missions, opposing forces work toward their criminal goals and adjust their behavior in response to player decisions.
