- Those wanting a tightly paced shooter may find the combination of exploration, survival upkeep, crafting, quests, and social activities demanding.

- Players seeking turn-based or class-based MMORPG combat may prefer Inkbound or SpiritVale instead.
Our take on PIONER
Players who expect familiar RPG progression may bounce off when combat omits traditional health bars and character levels. The next pressure point is survival upkeep: hunger, rest, and resource management remain part of the routine alongside shooting and exploration.
What is PIONER?
Explore a 50+ square kilometer post-apocalyptic island shaped by an alternative Soviet-era reality.
PIONER combines first-person shooting with PvE missions, faction quests, story content, PvP areas, and six raids. Combat emphasizes realism rather than traditional health bars or character levels. Survival involves managing hunger, rest, and resources, while workbenches support crafting with artifacts, anomaly energy, and scavenged materials. Weapon customization uses modules and different designs. Faction relationships can produce rewards and further narrative content. Players can form clans, communicate through chat and emotes, compete on clan leaderboards, and take part in events, fishing, casino games, and other activities. The world includes abandoned structures, anomalies, artifacts, and hidden dungeons beyond the main map.
How PIONER plays

- 03Faction Relationships
- Working with different groups affects loyalty and can open rewards and further story material.
- 04Survival Management
- Character strength depends on handling hunger, rest, and available resources.
- 05Weapon Crafting
- Workbenches combine artifacts, anomaly energy, and scavenged materials for weapons and equipment.
- 06Clan Activities
