Is PERISH worth it for you?
We tell you who should skip it, too.
Play it if you…
Good fit- FPS players who want a campaign with currency that can be lost on death
- Groups of friends looking for online co-op for up to four players
- Players who enjoy ranged and melee combat against myth-inspired creatures and bosses
Skip it if you…
Saves you a refund- Players seeking a low-stakes progression system may bounce off the loss of acquired danake after death.
- Players who prefer a small, focused enemy roster may not suit the slew of enemies drawn from several mythological traditions.
- Players wanting a nonviolent experience will not fit a game built around brutal ranged and melee combat.
Our take on PERISH
The bounce point is the danake loop: acquired wealth disappears when Amyetri dies unless it has been deposited in the Pantheon. Players who want to keep every reward through each attempt may hit that wall during a run.
What is PERISH?
PERISH is a first-person shooter campaign for 1–4 players.
As Amyetri, a spirit condemned to Purgatory, fight creatures and chthonic deities while pursuing the Rites of Orpheus and entry to Elysium. Gold-stained corpses can be sold to priests for danake, the underworld currency used to buy weapons, crowns, rings, and other equipment. Danake acquired during a run is lost if Amyetri dies unless it is deposited in the Pantheon. The campaign includes dilapidated temples, volcanic foundries, ancient shipwrecks, and other hazardous environments. Online co-op supports up to three friends, with group equipment for supporting, defending, and reviving teammates.

PERISH compared to similar games
Abyssus also focuses on multiplayer shooting and sends groups through hand-crafted levels in a roguelite adventure. PERISH instead uses a first-person campaign across myth-inspired environments, with danake spent on equipment and placed at risk on death. The other listed games center on climbing, a third-person shooter, a runner, or a metroidvania rather than this first-person co-op campaign.
